Navigate

jump the MD to the kit & pattern you want to work on. optional.

MachineDrandom changes the currently loaded kit in place — engine by engine, parameter by parameter — over live MIDI. Nothing is stored automatically: audition, then SAVE KIT on the MD to keep it. Enable CC + SysEx receive on the MD, and set Base ch (top right) to match GLOBAL SETTINGS → MIDI CHANNELS → BASE CH. The MD spreads its 16 tracks over 4 channels starting there. Sample machines (ROM/RAM) are excluded.

defaults for every track. override per-track in the matrix.

Includes X.12 machines: GND-SW, GND-PU (in GND) and the NFX noise group. INP (external inputs), MID (MIDI machines) and CTR (control machines) are off by default — turn them on to let the picker draw them too.

Synth params 1–8 are engine-specific (meaning depends on the assigned machine). Params 9–24 are the fixed track-FX & routing lane, identical on every machine.

DEF leaves that parameter untouched on the MD · RND randomizes it on every roll · FIX pins a value. Transmitted as the MD's FX SysEx on the current kit, alongside the engine roll.

MACHINEDRANDOM plays the pattern live on the MD as a sound module — it streams the trigs as MIDI notes. With Clock: Internal it generates the timing and sends MIDI clock so tempo-synced delay / LFOs lock to this BPM, and the MD's own sequencer is not started (nothing is written to pattern memory). With Clock: External · from MD it slaves to the MD's clock instead (select the MD as the MIDI input, top right) and follows its start/stop — here the MD is the master. Enable NOTE RECEIVE on the MD and make sure the note map matches. You can re-roll, edit cells, and change velocity / swing while it plays.
